Menasha closes on the sale of Poly Hi Solidur

Menasha Corporation announced today that it closed the sale of Poly Hi Solidur, Inc., its Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) business. Menasha Corporation and Quadrant AG announced the transaction on June 27, 2005.

Poly Hi Solidur was sold to Quadrant AG for approximately $82 million plus the assumption of $3 million of capitalized leases. Menasha Corporation will invest proceeds from the sale in its other businesses.

Menasha Corporation, one of America's oldest private companies and largest privately held manufacturing companies, decided to sell Poly Hi Solidur following a strategic review of its businesses and business strategy. The review, conducted in 2004, included an in-depth evaluation of each business in terms of strategic alternatives and current valuations.
